Role Overview
A leading organization in the financial services sector is looking for an experienced Engagement Manager with strong technical leadership capabilities to lead the delivery of a large-scale Data Lakehouse platform.

This role combines program management, architecture oversight, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the successful implementation of a modern data platform supporting both batch and near-real-time data processing.

The selected candidate will oversee the delivery of an on-premise data platform based on Cloudera CDP, ensuring alignment with governance, security, and performance requirements while coordinating cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery & Program Management

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale data platform implementation.
• Manage project scope, timelines, milestones, budget, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate onshore and offshore teams across data engineering, governance, and platform operations.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide regular status updates, executive reporting, and decision tracking.

Technical Leadership

• Guide the architecture and implementation of modern data lakehouse patterns.
• Oversee data pipeline development and integration frameworks supporting both batch and streaming workloads.
• Support teams in implementing scalable data processing pipelines and performance optimization.
• Provide technical oversight on data storage strategies, query engines, and distributed processing frameworks.

Data Governance & Compliance

• Ensure strong data governance practices including metadata management, lineage tracking, and data quality monitoring.
• Align platform implementation with financial industry regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Establish standards for schema evolution, data ownership, and data stewardship.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary interface between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate with platform architects, security teams, and operational leadership.
• Lead design reviews, governance meetings, and executive briefings.

Team Leadership

• Mentor engineering teams and enforce development standards and operational best practices.
• Ensure proper CI/CD processes and testing strategies are implemented.
• Monitor KPIs and platform performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics platforms, or large-scale data projects.
• 5+ years leading complex delivery programs, preferably in offshore/onshore engagement models.
• Strong experience implementing enterprise data platforms or data lakehouse architectures.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data processing technologies and streaming platforms.
• Experience with ETL frameworks, metadata management, and data governance practices.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and SDLC practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with banking or financial services data environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with enterprise data platform ecosystems such as Cloudera or similar big-data platforms.
• Familiarity with data virtualization or semantic layer technologies.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and performance optimization for large data platforms.
• Experience supporting disaster recovery and high-availability environments.
• Relevant certifications in data platforms, governance tools, or Agile methodologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
