Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Role:
The Chief Technical Officer (CTO) is responsible for overseeing the organization’s technical vision and strategy. The CTO plays a crucial role in driving technological innovation, implementing advanced systems, and ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of industry advancements. This role requires extensive experience in technology leadership, the military sector, and a proven track record of managing technical strategies and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Implement Technical Strategies:
• Formulate and execute the organization’s overall technical vision and strategy in alignment with its goals.
• Identify future technological trends and assess their applicability to the organization’s objectives.
• Develop long-term plans to enhance the organization’s technological capabilities.

2. Drive Innovation and Technology Adoption:
• Lead the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and advanced software systems.
• Drive initiatives to integrate new technologies into the organization’s operations to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
• Foster a culture of innovation within technical teams to explore and implement advanced solutions.

3. Oversee Technical Infrastructure:
• Ensure the effective deployment and maintenance of technical systems, platforms, and tools.
• Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the security and reliability of the organization’s digital infrastructure.
• Establish guidelines and standards for the organization’s technological framework.

4. Provide Strategic Guidance:
• Advise the CEO and executive team on technical matters, trends, and advancements.
• Evaluate technical partnerships and opportunities to enhance the organization’s capabilities.
• Develop and manage the technical budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

5. Collaborate with Internal and External Stakeholders:
• Work closely with department heads to identify and implement technology-driven solutions.
• Represent the organization in industry events, conferences, and partnerships to stay informed about emerging technologies.
• Establish relationships with technology providers and vendors to secure state-of-the-art solutions.

6. Build and Lead Technical Teams:
• Recruit, train, and develop highly skilled technical talent.
• Establish a strong technical leadership pipeline within the organization.
• Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional growth for the technical workforce.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
• At least 25 years of experience in technology leadership, including a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the military products development.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and automation.
• Proven ability to manage and execute technology-driven projects on a large scale.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and regulations in technology and security.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
