SCOPE OF WORK:
The Senior System Engineer provides high level technical expertise in cloud solutions to our client Cloud and uses his knowledge to perform cloud services onboarding and support activities. He/she should have a clear understanding of the value that monitoring technologies impart when properly instrumented to observe our most valued business assets, having an in-depth knowledge in the monitoring discipline. He/she should perform cloud monitoring activities in addition to cloud usage reporting and capacity monitoring. Is required to participate and provide support in the planning and engineering of our client’s cloud computing infrastructure and services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform environment provisioning and migration in line with the awarded proposal including testing and handover
- Follow up, schedule and perform testing activities with existing tenants for Backup, Disaster Recovery services and other
- Perform Cloud Usage reporting activities to include:
- Third party usage reporting (Vmware, Veeam, IBM, etc.).
- Cloud Capacity planning, actual versus proposed, etc.
- Cloud usage monitoring
- Implement IT Transformation & Workload Migration Projects; such as: IT disaster recovery, Business continuity Planning, IT Strategy, transformation, cloud infrastructure etc…, while following best practices in Industry Standards.
- Able to gather and collect needed information and perform current state assessment of the customer’s IT environment and possible challenges.
- Understand the solutions – in order to talk intelligently to clients.
- Attend client’s meetings and workshops as needed.
- Liaise with other business units’ technical members for the project implementation process.
- Perform tasks in an organized & efficient manner & in accordance to defined standards & process documentation & make effective use of enterprise systems, applications & collaboration tools.
- Develop & upload Technical Documents on Project Management Tool, to be used as knowledge base to other team members.
- Develop and maintain internal and client support documentation.
- Interface with client management to ensure progress on activities.
- Provide technical expertise on cloud computing techniques and technologies.
- Recommend and evaluate solutions to discrepancies and problems.
- Translate the client’s business requirements into systems design, including high availability and disaster recovery.
- Make full use of our client Cloud technologies like VMWARE, VEEAM, HP, …
- Perform Cloud Monitoring activities to include:
- Cloud Infrastructure, System, Storage continuous monitoring.
- Partnership management (HPE, IBM, VMware, etc.)
- In-house infrastructure operation & maintenance including Internal Administration
- Perform full lifecycle support to the customer on the cloud infrastructure and act as level 1 & 2 main contact person for tenant support
- Stay up to date with cloud market developments.
- Provide staff and client knowledge transfer sessions as required.
- Support, resolve issues and coordinate maintenance works related to the Cloud infrastructure.
- Report periodically on the status and progress of his/her activities and achievements to his/her direct manager.
- Keep PMO team members informed of work process and any changes in client’s requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
- Have 3-5 years of technical Presales and IT Transformation for IT Infrastructure solutions.
- Highly desired to have experience in IT Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity Planning, Enterprise Architecture, Data Center Infrastructure, etc…
- Experience in cloud infrastructure management.
- Good Knowledge in systems mainly VMWARE (vCenter, NSX, AVI, Aria operation), VEEAM, LINUX, HP etc… and some knowledge in network and security is preferable.
- Good Knowledge in HPE:
- Storage Systems (MSA, Primera, Alletra)
- Servers (DL, Synergy)
- Management tools (HPE OneView, iRS)
- StoreOnce
- Having HPE Certifications such as but not limited to HPE ASE – Compute Solutions, HPE ASE – Storage Solutions.
- Good Commercial acumen skills
- Experience with leading cloud platforms across SAAS, PAAS and IAAS.
- Familiar with ITIL processes for IT service management
- Excellent organization skills with result and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and easily with end users (English/ Arabic), especially in conflict situations.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and continuously.
- Ability to define and document high-level solutions and explain how various components of the architecture will interact.
- Able to clearly and effectively communicate both orally and via documents (technical documents or presentation).
- Adaptable, able to work with tight/changing scheduling demands. Able to analyze problems and take appropriate actions.
- Ability to work and operate individually and within a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Flexible to travel to Clients sites/Branches. Must be able to travel locally on occasion
TECHNICAL TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS:
To have ensured most or all advanced level certifications in his/her area of specialty/expertise; such as:
- Business Continuity Planning, IT Disaster Recovery, ITIL Service Management, VMWARE, VEEAM, HP, Linux
