Android Engineer

Duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices.
- Assist in maintaining the health of the codebase and improving overall system architecture.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient with Kotlin and/or Java.
- Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with the use of sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
- A knack for benchmarking, profiling and optimization.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
- MVP, MVVM, and MVI architectural patterns for scalable and maintainable code.
- Experience with Android Architecture Components.
- Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
- Published one or more Android apps in the Google Play Store.
