Job Description

Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices.
  • Assist in maintaining the health of the codebase and improving overall system architecture.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient with Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Experience with Android SDK, different versions of Android.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with the use of sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers.
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
  • A knack for benchmarking, profiling and optimization.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Jetpack Compose.
  • MVP, MVVM, and MVI architectural patterns for scalable and maintainable code.
  • Experience with Android Architecture Components.
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
  • Published one or more Android apps in the Google Play Store.
