Mid Network & System Engineer

Scope Of Work:

The Senior Network & Security Engineer is responsible to monitor and execute the daily operational activities needed to manage IT services and the supporting IT infrastructure, such as Network troubleshooting , Virtualized Environment, and Operating Systems. He/She will monitor large computer networks and servers for problems from a central location or remotely.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure network architectures, ensuring the integration of security measures in network infrastructure.
• Configure and manage firewall systems to control and monitor network traffic, preventing unauthorized access and potential threats.
• Implement and maintain IDPS to detect and respond to malicious activities and potential security incidents.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of network systems to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Lead the response to security incidents affecting network infrastructure, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact.
• Implement and manage processes for timely application of security patches and updates to network devices.
• Establish and maintain network monitoring tools to detect and respond to abnormal network behavior or security threats.
• Implement robust authentication and authorization mechanisms to control access to network resources.
• Securely configure and manage load balancing solutions to ensure high availability and protect against potential vulnerabilities.
• Conduct network forensics to investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for network security configurations, procedures, and incident response plans.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into network infrastructure projects and ensure a holistic security approach.
• Figure out the malfunctioning of hardware, software, and environmental alerts. When a problem is recognized, do the root cause analysis (RCA)…
• Work to troubleshoot the issues, within their defined areas.
• Provide technical support to end users (Server Assistance).
• Responding to network alerts and hardware malfunctions.
• Set up and manage VPN solutions to establish secure communication channels for remote access and data transfer.
• Escalate complicated technical issues which need an immediate response or troubleshooting to responsible parties or vendors for a faster resolution after obtaining the proper approvals.
• Carefully track and document all defects and resolutions in response to incidents. This helps in maintenance of the system’s health record.
• Support planning and execution of changes in production environments especially deployment of new and changed features as well as patch management.
• Participate in Disaster recovery activities, such as executing system failover scripts.
• Develop, enforce, and update network security policies and procedures to align with industry best practices and compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Proven network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis skills.
• Good Knowledge in Fortigate, Palo Alto, WAF (F5 ASM/ Fortiweb), Email Security Gateway , DLP
  Good computer literacy.
