Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Policy Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of security policies and procedures.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Incident Response: Participate in incident response activities, ensuring that security breaches are documented and reported.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of compliance efforts and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) are often preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of IT security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001 and others ) and experience with security technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex information and identify risks.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey compliance requirements to various stakeholders.
