Job Description
Our client is looking for an Account Manager who will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with existing telecom and enterprise clients in Iraq, ensuring revenue growth, service quality, and customer satisfaction in the A2P messaging business.
He/ She must have a strong understanding of SMS/Messaging ecosystems, commercial negotiation skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical, routing, and finance teams.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned accounts (MNOs, Aggregators, Enterprises) in Iraq.
- Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct regular business reviews to ensure service satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities.
- Meet and exceed revenue and margin targets for assigned accounts.
- Identify and close cross-sell and upsell opportunities for messaging, voice, or CPaaS products.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, including rates, commitments, and SLAs.
- Coordinate with routing and technical teams to ensure optimal delivery quality and capacity for client traffic.
- Monitor daily traffic performance, troubleshoot delivery issues, and ensure fast resolution.
- Proactively detect and address fraud or AIT-related concerns in cooperation with fraud management teams.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and account performance reports for management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to recommend adjustments.
- Work closely with finance for billing, dispute resolution, and timely collections.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop tailored campaigns for client engagement.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Telecom or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in A2P messaging or wholesale telecom sales/account management in the Iraqi market.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and growing key accounts.
- Strong knowledge of the A2P SMS ecosystem, including routing, pricing, and delivery KPIs.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret traffic and revenue data.
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
