Job Description

Our client’s Cybersecurity Group includes an IAM team responsible for managing Identity and Access Management for employees, contractors, third parties, and systems accessing IT applications. The team has implemented frameworks and policies to ensure the right people have the right access at the right time.

The IAM team also leads Azure Governance, managing Azure AD to maintain security, compliance, and cost-efficiency. In this role, you would implement and manage governance policies and procedures within the Azure environment, following best practices and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and manage governance policies and procedures for the Azure environment to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
  • Security and Compliance: Monitor and enforce security policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements across the Azure platform.
  • Cost Management: Implement cost management strategies, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring to optimize cloud spending.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the provisioning, management, and decommissioning of Azure resources to ensure efficient use and avoid sprawl.
  • Automation and Scripting: Utilize automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure CLI) to streamline governance processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards to track compliance, performance, and cost metrics. Generate regular reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, finance, and application development, to align governance practices with business objectives.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on Azure governance policies and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in cloud governance, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, including Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, Azure Security Center, and Azure Cost Management. Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, ARM templates, Azure CLI).
  • In-depth understanding of cloud security, compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and best practices for cloud governance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and address governance issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
