Our client is a financial holding company and a leading investment group in the insurance and reinsurance fields. Our client is looking for a Business Applications Specialist (French Speaking) who will support the IT department and all business units with issues relating to enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business process issues and suggest solutions; ensure processes align with business strategy.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of applications developed on WinDev.
  • Provide support to departments using the WinDev application; troubleshoot and debug to ensure optimal performance.
  • Attend meetings to conduct gap analysis and identify new business requirements.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of newly acquired applications.
  • Participate in business application projects ensuring successful and timely implementation; escalate issues as needed.
  • Interact and coordinate with users in all departments to provide technical support and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver updates.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prioritize work to resolve technical emergencies as they occur.
  • Provide programming and report writing support.
  • Analyze organizational business needs, meet with users to evaluate requirements, discuss solutions, and develop plans of approach.
  • Analyze and design program logic, screen layouts, reports, station criteria, and testing criteria to support the development of new or enhanced systems.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and review of application systems and programs; identify problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Prepare program documentation to support new or enhanced systems and applications.
  • Conduct user acceptance, performance stress, regression, and integration testing; make changes and corrections as needed.
  • Contribute to team efforts and collaborate effectively with all departments and business units.
  • Provide technical support during extended business hours and weekends for client operations.
  • Stay up to date on technical trends and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Participate in all aspects of systems design, including writing programs, testing, evaluating new processes, and implementing new applications.
  • Participate in structured walk-throughs and other activities to review systems, and provide training and support.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in French (written and spoken) is a must.
4 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
WinDev experience is a big plus, or similar technologies like VB.net or Python.
Good SQL knowledge.
