Job Description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the organization’s core IT infrastructure, with a focus on servers, virtualization, storage, and backup systems. The role ensures the security, performance, and availability of systems in accordance with the IT strategy and operational requirements. Working under the direction of the IT Operations Lead and IT Manager, this position Provides support for critical infrastructure services.
In addition, the Systems Administrator plays a key role in end-user support, assisting with escalated technical issues, managing user accounts and access rights, supporting endpoint configurations, and ensuring seamless operation of productivity tools and enterprise applications across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following
● Reports to the IT Operations Lead (1st reporting line) and the IT Manager (2nd reporting line) and maintains data network systems across the enterprise. This includes the support, installation and maintenance of associated hardware, software and communication infrastructure.
● Handles the administration of core infrastructure components including Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, file servers, virtualization (VMware), storage, and backup systems.
● Participates in infrastructure implementation, system architecture, capacity planning, and service improvement.
● Ensures system availability, performance, and security through routine maintenance, patching, and performance monitoring.
● Applies security policies and implements system-level protections to align with IT governance and risk management requirements.
● Supports disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including backup strategy development and testing.
● Provides support for escalated incidents related to servers, virtualization, backups, system performance, as well as advanced end-user issues involving access, system functionality, and enterprise applications.
● Maintains accurate documentation for system configurations, procedures, asset inventory, and operational runbooks.
● Collaborates with application and infrastructure teams during system upgrades, deployments, and cross-functional IT initiatives.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
● Minimum of 3+ years of relevant IT experience.

Security & Operations
• Basic firewall and endpoint security administration
