Work & Experience
As Operations Control Center Supervisor at Ansaldo STS, a Hitachi Group company, from May 2018 to July 2019, I was responsible for the daily management and supervision of operations, ensuring adherence to established procedures and guidelines. This included overseeing safe, timely, and reliable operations and managing operators on duty in the OCC. I handled and completed incident and deviation reports, monitored work permits across shifts, and ensured operational continuity. Previously, from April 2011 to May 2018, as Operations Control Center Supervisor at Alsafwah Alnaqeah - Bin Laden Group, I managed daily operations according to procedural guidelines, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency. I supervised OCC operators, facilitated rail transfers between the TCO and OCC, and managed incident reporting and deviation handling. Additionally, I ensured the readiness of trains through inspections, coordinated fault resolutions with maintenance teams via MMIS systems, and maintained comprehensive OCC logbook records for operational abnormalities and procedural deviations. Throughout both roles, I emphasized staff safety and contractor compliance with safety protocols, contributing to a culture of operational excellence and safety awareness.
From August 2019 to August 2023, I served as the OCC Duty Manager at FLOW Consortium, the Riyadh Metro Operator, where I oversaw the direct supervision of a 24/7 control room staff. This included Traffic Controllers, Depot Controllers, Engineering Controllers, and Station Controllers, ensuring seamless train and station operations. I was instrumental in training new OCC employees in essential systems such as CCTV, Automatic Train Control (ATC SYSTEM), SCADA, VHMI, operational procedures, rules, and incident management protocols. During the testing and commissioning phases, I provided critical support to Hitachi company, overseeing mileage run and managing OCC staff, including briefing and debriefing, managing vacations and stuff welfare, and stuff competency. I maintained regular communication with higher management through detailed daily reports and executed passenger service operations plans in real-time, monitoring and responding to events that could impact commercial service. My responsibilities also encompassed ensuring prompt responses to events and incidents to minimize service disruptions, publishing operational performance reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and developing and training control room staff in emergency response tactics. I conducted Competency Management System (CMS) assessments for OCC Controllers and coordinated with external services during emergencies. Furthermore, I developed comprehensive plans and work instructions for accidents, service disruptions, extreme weather, and natural disasters, and fulfilled the role of Incident Officer during degraded or emergency incidents, adhering to incident management processes and command structures.
During my tenure as Duty Manager at STC, Huawei, Lucent, and Siemens, I was entrusted with overseeing customer complaints concerning internet and landline services. My responsibilities included diligently reporting these issues to the respective companies and, if resolutions were not achieved within stipulated timeframes, promptly escalating them to the technical team. This proactive approach ensured swift and effective resolution of problems, thereby upholding optimal service delivery standards.
